Dr. Cleophas Justine Pierre
Dr. Cleophas Justine Pierre is a Labour Market and Migration Consultant. His primary area of expertise is in the field of Migration and Labour Market Research. This field involves matters relating to forced migration, human trafficking (TIP), migrant smuggling, migrants labour rights, data analytics, social research, conducting surveys, and the formulation of Labour Market Information Systems (LMIS)
Dr. Pierre is also engaged in both the Canadian (Black-Owned Business) company of Dunn, Pierre, Barnett & Company Ltd as the Director of Research and Business Development and in the non-profit organization, CANCARO as the Chief Executive Officer. CANCARO was established to assist with the eradication of TIP and migrant smuggling and the education of migrants. This non-profit organisation also provides support for vulnerable groups including smuggling and TIP victims in the Caribbean, Latin, and North America.
Over the last 10 years, Dr. Pierre conducted in excess of 60 consultancies in more than 30 countries and has been on several overseas missions as a team member to review, evaluate and appraise programmes aimed at promoting labour market research in the countries of Latin America, the Caribbean region and Africa.
In 2012, Dr. Pierre was one of a four-person team that completed the first Labour Market Needs Analysis in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States. Additionally, Dr. Pierre was part of a small team that conducted the recent EU “Thematic Global Evaluation Survey” in the sectors of employment, social inclusion including vocational training (TVET). The Thematic Global Evaluation Survey was conducted in the countries of Chile, Jamaica, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Ukraine, South Africa, and Vietnam.
Most recently, Dr. Pierre was consulted to conduct the third-largest migration study in the Caribbean Region. This study included the Turks and Caicos Migration and National Skills Audit (2017), the Pan-American Health Organisation, and the World Health Organisation Migration Survey of Health Workers in the Caribbean Region (2018), and the CARICOM Human Trafficking Survey in CARIFORUM Region (2019).
Dr. Pierre and his firm currently have one of the largest databases on Caribbean migrants (including those in the diaspora). This expansive database includes data on smugglers, human traffickers, crime statistics, data on skills and educational attainment, TIP victims, and human trafficking and smuggling routes in the Caribbean Region.
On a lighter side, Justine is a chess, golf and Draughts enthusiast, and can play an entire game without looking at the board.
Sherry-Ann Mohammed
Sherry-Ann Mohammed is a prolific researcher, writer and transcultural consultant with extensive experience in Adult Learning, International Educational facilities and Corporate Training. She is articulate in handing cross-cultural challenges and possesses strong follow-through and highly-developed presentation and facilitation skills. Sherry-Ann’s work experience range in for-profit, non-profit, and government sectors.
Sherry-Ann holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs, A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and is currently a doctoral candidate in Industrial & Organizational Psychology. She is also an active member of SIOP (Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology), student affiliate of APA (American Psychological Association) and has Co-Chaired for Academic OASIS (Academic Organization for Advancement of Strategic and International Studies).
Dr. Paulette Dunn-Pierre
Dr. Dunn-Pierre is the Executive Director of Dunn, Pierre, Barnett & Company Ltd. and has over 30 years international experience in education and training. She is a graduate of the University of Sheffield, England, where she pursued Doctoral studies in Educational Administration. She is also a product of Ohio University in the United where she gained a Master’s degree in Geography, Sociology and Statistical Research Methods and a graduate of the University of the West Indies where gained her undergraduate degree in Economics and Geography and a Diploma in Education.
An expert in competence-based education, training, assessment and certification, Dr. Dunn-Pierre, as a former Senior Director of the National Council on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NCTVET) the quality assurance arm of HEART Trust/NTA, led that department to ISO 2001:9000 registration in Quality Management, the first of its kind in the English – speaking Caribbean.
She spent six years as a Measurement Specialist at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) in Barbados, during which time she studied at the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) to hone her skills in assessment and evaluation. An advocate of Life-Long-Learning, she has also pursued studies at the Royal Institute of Public Administration (Advanced Management in Government) and is a trained ISO Quality Management Auditor. As a workforce development expert, Dr. Dunn-Pierre has worked extensively across the Caribbean region and internationally with International Agencies such as the ILO, UNESCO, CARIOM, The Commonwealth, Ministries of Education and National Training Authorities.
She has a particular interest in skills development, working with youths and empowering them to become productive citizens, contributing to their families and their communities. As an educator, she trains trainers, is competent in developing occupational standards and ensuring quality in work and work outcomes. Dr. Dunn-Pierre has conducted research and written on quality issues in TVET in small island states, regional workforce certification, and imperatives for regional workforce development. An accomplished writer, she has published a number of social studies textbooks, articles and related resource materials on education and skills training.
Mr. Garth Gibbes
Garth is currently Associate Director, Corporate Recruiting Financial Services & Business Development at Ivey Business School, Western University in London Ontario. He has worked as a senior leader in various areas of financial services domestically and internationally. He is an experienced business development and leadership executive with over 20 years of analytical, client relationship & business development skills.
Garth has worked in the areas of Human Capital & Workforce Development, Mentoring, Coaching, Management Consulting, Retail, Commercial and Private Banking, Learning & Development and Risk Management.
He has excelled in his leadership capabilities and always strives to make his employees better. He is a great listener, communicator and shares his expertise on a consistent basis to assist in transforming people for the sake of themselves and their organization.
Garth is heavily involved in the community through volunteering in many organizations such as the United Way, the Caribbean Canadian Cultural Association of Durham (Director) and the Rotary Club. He is currently a Board member of the African and Caribbean Board of Industry & Trade (ACBIT) in Toronto responsible for organizing trade deals between Africa, the Caribbean and Canadian businesses. He is also a Director of CANCARO, a not-for-profit anti-Human Trafficking organization in Toronto Canada.
Garth possesses strong project management and research skills and is well experienced in eLearning program development, diversity & inclusion and classroom training.
Garth holds a BSc. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Manitoba in Canada and has completed many professional development programs in Corporate Engagement, Business Development, Community Social Responsibilities, Learning & Development and Leadership.
